Foundations for Our Life Together (September 2009 – current)
What defines Sovereign Grace Fellowship as a church? Join us this fall for a series of messages that explore and explain how we seek to live out the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Hear how Gospel truth informs our doctrine, how Gospel power transforms our lives and how Gospel fellowship inspires our community. The Foundations series will continue to cast the vision of Sovereign Grace Fellowship, covering topics from the role of the Holy Spirit to Pastoral Leadership and several points in between. Come along this fall as we unpack how Scripture directs the many facets of our church life for the Glory of Christ!

The Hope of Glory (June 2009 – September 2009)
We love the Scriptures because they lead us to Christ. And the glorious theme of the Apostle Paul’s letter to the Colossians is: Jesus Christ! Join us as we unpack together “all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge” that are hidden in Christ—Christ who is preeminent, Christ who is sovereign, Christ who has reconciled us to God, Christ who now dwells in us and is our “hope of glory,” Christ who makes it possible to “walk in a manner worthy of the Lord,” Christ who will enable us to attain to the “hope laid up for [us] in heaven.” Paul’s point is clear: Christ is not only our source of spiritual treasure; he is the Treasure!
.
Faith Works (January 2009 – May 2009)
The Apostle James is clear: faith without the fruit of good works has no life in it—it’s dead faith that cannot lead to salvation. But genuine saving faith in Jesus Christ is seen in the good works it bears. Simply put: faith works. Please join us as we dig deep into this epistle and learn to put our faith to work—to be doers of the Word of God and not just hearers

When Sinners Say ‘I Do’ (February 2009)
Marriage is the union of two people who arrive at the altar toting some surprisingly large luggage. Often it gets opened right there on the honeymoon, sometimes it waits for the week after. The Bible calls it sin and understanding its influence can make all the difference for a man and woman who are building a life together. When Sinners Say “I Do”, based on the book by the same title, is about encountering the life-transforming power of the gospel in the unpredictable journey of marriage. See the retreat website here.

Now Concerning Spiritual Gifts (October – December 2008)
Now Concerning Spiritual Gifts: Even though the Corinthian church was abusing the spiritual gifts, the Apostle Paul never tells them to cease exercising them. Instead he says, “Earnestly desire the spiritual gifts” and for three chapters (12-14) in 1 Corinthians he adjusts their understanding and practice of the gifts. And we receive invaluable teaching about the nature, purpose, and appropriate use of the spiritual gifts in the local church. Join us as we examine Paul’s teaching in 1 Corinthians 12-14 and “strive to excel in building up the church” (14:12).
.
Money Matters (September 2008)
Whether the economy is strong or sluggish, money matters. And money matters mainly because God cares about this issue. There are over 2000 verses about money in the Bible! And God cares about money and how we handle it because what we do with our money is an indication of what our heart treasures most. So please join us for our upcoming sermon series called “Money Matters” as we explore together what God says about our finances in tough times and prosperous times.
.
Consider Jesus (January – September 2008)
The message of the book of Hebrews is clear: don’t drift. How do we keep from drifting? We fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, the radiance of the glory of God, the exact imprint of his nature, the creator and sustainer of the universe, the heir of all things, our apostle and high priest, the mediator of a better covenant, our intercessor, our propitiation, the once-for-all sacrifice for sins, the One seated at the right hand of majesty. Join us as we consider Jesus together in order to run with endurance the race set before us.
.
Vocation (April 2008)
Bob Hughes will be joining us for a 2-session mini-seminar that promises to be relevant for every teen and man in the church who has a job or is looking for one. Bob served as a Sovereign Grace pastor until God called him back into the business world in 1993. He has a passion to model God’s Kingdom in the marketplace.
.
The Gospel and Culture (February 2008)
Jesus said of his disciples, “You are the salt of the earth…you are the light of the world” (Matthew 5:13-14). Salt preserves and light reveals. So our calling is twofold: to be involved in the world to prevent moral decay, and to bring the light of the gospel to those who live in darkness. This seminar is intended to help adults and senior high youth to do that- to influence the culture rather than be influenced by it. In four sessions we trust you will be better informed about our culture from a biblical perspective and more able to interact effectively with those in it for God’s glory.
.
Passionate Partners for Life (March 2007)
Steve & Janis Shank give a retreat on the topic of marriage.

Feasting on the Word (February 2007)
Your words were found, and I ate them, and your words became to me a joy and the delight of my heart, for I am called by your name, O LORD, God of hosts. (Jeremiah 15:16) Do you feel that way about God’s word? Does it delight you and bring you joy when you read it? Whether the answer is yes, no, or sometimes, you can enjoy that rich feast prepared by God in an even greater way. Affection for God comes through knowledge of God, and knowledge of God comes through understanding his word. This seminar is designed to help you understand accurately what God has revealed about himself in the Bible.
