Matthew – I listened to two of your sermons today. Both were excellent but I especially enjoyed the sermon on Defending the Faith. It really followed the Truth Project teaching and you made it clear to be bold and not ashamed, but the emphasis on doing it in gentleness is always a very good reminder.
It really did make me think about how our culture is shaping the church rather than how the church is shaping culture.
It must take a lot or work to prepare an hour long sermon. For most congregations around here most of those sermons would be given over 2 weeks. It does take real good preaching to keep people with you for an hour. In some ways I think it is almost too much for my mind to digest in one message. On some of the big words, I was glad you explained what the work meant in terms I could understand and you gave it to me a couple times.
I am looking forward to hearing you at Harvest. May the holy spirit continue to inspire you as you study and preach the Word.
You also inspired me to continue memorizing scripture. I did more of that when you kids were home than after you left. I will work on that.
May God bless your ministry for His honor!
Love,
